What We Do!

1 We sell gift boxes (cheese) and hampers (cheese plus other stuff) which we send all over the country. Cheese is a lovely way to give someone a treat which a) doesn’t need too much thinking about and b) won’t run the risk of cluttering their house up with More Stuff. There’s a whole bunch of off-the-peg ones on our website, making it even easier.

2 We are specialists in cheese for weddings - and particularly cheese wedding cakes. And having been doing these for 19 years now I think we can say we’re pretty good at it! Take a look at the off-the-peg cakes on the website OR build your own using our unique Cakebuilder tool! NB Cheese cakes aren’t just for weddings … they’re a fun thing for any celebration!

3 We specialise in Westcountry cheese - the great cheeses from our region in the south-west of England and have over one hundred different types. Most of them are in stock year-round, so do browse the website to take a look at our incredible range. We love our part of the world and are proud to be involved with the many, many great products that come from the small dairies all around us. 

4 We have an incredible little shop here in Bovey Tracey, just off the south-east corner of Dartmoor in Devon. Walk in and you will straightaway know that this place is different - its counter piled high with tall stacks of cheeses (a changing selection every week) its floor-to-ceiling shelves filled with whole cheeses maturing for months in the temperature and humidity controlled space. There is no other cheese shop like it in our region, and very few outside London. It’s a special place and we’re very proud of it. Open Tues-Fri 9-5 and Sat 10-4 every week.

5 We’re a source of advice for all your cheese needs. Maybe you’re looking for a particular type of cheese … or want to make up a selection for a cheeseboard, a gift or an event … or you want to try something a bit different? Whatever it is, ask us. We do know quite a bit about cheese now (!) and love to talk to our customers about it.

6 We’re the place to come to if you’re planning an event that would benefit from cheese (which is almost any event, of course). We can help you put together a great cheese selection for any occasion, think about how it might be presented and displayed, and so on. Just email, or phone us - or pop in to the shop if you’re close enough.

7 We do simply amazing cheese toasties, which you can either have in our very peaceful and characterful courtyard and barn OR to take away. Do you like your toasties simple and classic, or adventurous? With blue or goats’ cheese? Do you fancy the idea of a Bombay or Za’atar toastie? The menu changes weekly but you will definitely find something on it you’ll love! Toasties are served from 12-2 every day the shop is open (Tues-Sat).

8 Subscriptions and gift vouchers. We can send you or a friend a series of cheese boxes - either one a month, or spread across a year - there’s various ways of doing a cheese subscription. And it can be pay-as-you-go or paid upfront. There are also Cheese Shed gift vouchers - £10, £15 or £25. They can be used online or in our shop and have no expiry date.
