The Epicurean
Epicurean, adj. Devoted to the pursuit of sensual pleasure, especially to the enjoyment of good food and comfort. ORIGIN: Middle English 'Epicurien'
A complete feast in itself, and one which really should delight the senses,
The Epicurean starts with a classic from a great Devon maker we know well - Beenleigh Blue from Ticklemore Cheese (their answer to Roquefort), and Jamie Montgomery's Ogleshield is a fruity-flavoured modern classic. Our own Pepperdon* completes the trio, combining melt-in-the-mouth raw Jersey milk cheese with the kick of crushed black peppercorns.
A gorgeous chutney is to be expected, and we can vouch for Clare's Beetroot & Orange, and there's a great selection of biscuits from Stag's.
The Epicurean also includes Casalinga Antipasto Olives, one of Will Macken's salamis (various flavours are available) and the Duck Rillette with Cranberries and Grand Marnier made in Cornwall.
For full details see the 'about' tab below. For the wine, choose from half-bottles of either Les Vignes du Prince Cotes du Rhone (France) or Echeverria Merlot from Chile (not pictured).
*When not available Pepperdon will be substituted with either Parke (herbs) or Drogo (fennel pollen).
